Bar degli artisti simply meaning ‘Artist’s Bar’ in Italian is a novel destination where one can not only partake of a few drinks but can also indulge one’s visual sensibility.
Situated in a hotel which is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, the prestigious Capri Palace Hotel and Spa, which is located in the core of the town of Capri in Italy, this very eclectic watering hole is in a class quite of its own.
The owner of the Capri Palace Hotel, Mr. Tonino Cacace being basically an ardent collector of art, was not happy with just owning a great number of paintings and other pieces of art; he also wanted to share it with as many people as possible.
Affording a visual delight to all that came to this part of the hotel for a drink or two, he decorated the walls of the bar with all the pieces of his collection. To showcase the beauty of the art, which was a vast collection of paintings and numerous pieces of bric-a brac, effectively an understated white palette was used in the overall décor plan. Comfortable furniture in cool furnishings, set in tranquil alcoves, white walls and a high ceiling, along with a white tiled floor was all that was required in the way of a backdrop for the owner’s private collection of art treasures.
Soft music completes the magic begun by art and the spacious terrace adjacent to the bar lets one enjoy the natural visions of the glorious sunsets of the island. Tasty Italian snacks provide accompaniment to the varied and comprehensive bar menu.
